Talking about sexuality can make even the most confident parent “freeze” or take “flight.” But studies have shown that parental involvement has a tremendous impact on your child’s decisions regarding relationships and sex. If your child doesn’t hear about it from you, he or she will hear it from someone else. This is a foundational session on relational health and sexuality matters. The following topics will be covered:
- Understand the issues youths face in today’s media-hyped world
- Learn what you need to talk to your child about when it comes to sexuality education – health, relationships and character
- Learn practical tips on how to start talking to your child about sex and relationships
Sessions 7 & 8 (9 & 16 Oct): The Modern Family
With so much talk and media bombardment on the LGBTQ+ issue, how can we make sense of gender and same-sex attraction from a Christian perspective? The Modern Family series (two sessions) is designed for parents to be updated on the LGBTQ landscape in Singapore. Parents with kids at a younger age can attend as preparation to engage in the content with their growing kids. Parents with older kids (even youths) can attend and learn to engage their older and more mature kids. Parents will gain practical handles and be strengthened in their biblical convictions on this topic.
