JAMs Service
JAMs … Jesus for All Minds.
City Harvest’s weekly JAMs worship services serve more than 500 people with special needs, particularly intellectual disabilities.
Our mission has been constant since we began this ministry with just 4 members—we desire to share and demonstrate the love and power of the gospel to these unique individuals, giving them an opportunity to receive the salvation of Christ, develop a stronger sense of self-worth and live their lives to the fullest potential that God has purposed for them. Some of our JAMs members have even participated and won medals in the Special Olympics in Beijing and Greece!
During our services, we conduct exciting games, vibrant praise and worship, and simple, yet powerful Bible lessons. The target group that we serve is made up of people with intellectual disabilities such as Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Cerebral Palsy (CP) and Learning Disabilities.
We also provide the following services:
- Free transportation through buses ferrying members islandwide
to our worship services and events - Home visitations
- Discipleship through friendship
- Social development opportunities through excursions, talks, games,
talent shows and learning activities - Referral services
- Practical assistance such as medical escorts and financial aid
- Cell group meetings
